Project Description

UW-Parkside intends to work on the following aspects of sustainability as part of the NSF Type I proposal.

a. Utilize faculty and student expertise to complete a feasibility study for a WtE (Waste to Energy) plant at one of the three locations in Southeastern Wisconsin and build sustainable partnerships with local for-profit (e.g., Amazon, Unfi, Uline) organizations and local governments (City of Kenosha and City of Racine).

b. Contribute to improved water quality projects in Wisconsin and surrounding areas through faculty expertise and laboratory spaces.

c. Connect with regional collaboratives on analytical chemistry services, including natural products analyses

d. Enhance sustainability research and education through global research partnerships and educational activities.
